Kathmandu (dpa)- A Supreme Court judge in Nepal died Thursday after he was shot on his way to work in Kathmandu, doctors said.
Justice Rana Bahadur Bam and his bodyguard were shot in the capital's Lalitpur district by two men on a motorcycle earlier Thursday.
Doctors treating Bam said he died from excessive bleeding. He had received injures to his neck, chest and stomach.
His bodyguard, who sustained wounds to his chest, is also reported to be in critical condition.
Bam was under investigation for alleged bribery, after releasing three criminals convicted of abduction on unusually small bails.
