Kathmandu (dpa) - Nine people were killed and 11 injured Wednesday when a jeep skidded off the road and fell 400 metres in western Nepal, police said.
Police said the accident in the district of Accham could have been due to overcrowding, and rescue operations were ongoing.
Road accidents caused by reckless driving and old vehicles are common in Nepal.
